Who this is for
This area is for educational centers—institutes that employ teachers and staff employees and may use payroll tools on eligible plans.
Individual tutors who work alone do not use staff lists, teacher management, or institute payroll.
Teachers (teaching staff)
Teachers are the people who teach your batches. Centers can:
- Keep a list of teachers with contact and profile details
- Link teachers to batches
- Track teacher attendance where your institute uses employee attendance
Teachers are focused on classroom delivery, not the same role as office staff (though one person in real life might do both—your center sets them up accordingly).
Staff employees (office and facilitation)
Staff in Edunza means center employees who handle office work and facilitation, for example:
- Student enrollment and records
- Fee recording and front-desk collection support
- Helping with attendance or class coordination
- Assignment or administrative follow-up
How centers add staff
- The center administrator opens Staff in the dashboard.
- They add the employee’s information.
- They create a login so the person can sign in.
- The employee uses only the modules the center allows for their role (batches, fees, assignments, etc.—as configured by your institute).
Staff cannot create themselves through the public registration page. The center must add them.

Leave and employee attendance
Centers often use:
- Employee attendance — mark presence for staff and teachers as employees of the institute
- Leave requests — a center admin raises requests on an employee's behalf and approves or rejects them
- Leave balances — entitlements and days used per employee, on plans with Payroll
Note that employees do not apply for leave themselves, and staff employees cannot see leave requests or balances. Full details in Leave management.
Payroll module (plan-gated)
On plans that include Payroll, centers get a full payroll workflow. Each area has its own article:
- Salary structures — reusable pay templates of earnings and deductions, with change history
- Generating payslips — generate a month at a time, review drafts, finalise, download PDFs
- Payroll settings and deductions — provident fund, professional tax, and income-tax withholding, all off until you turn them on
- Holiday and working-day calendar — weekly offs and holidays, which shape both leave and pay
- Leave management — leave types, approvals, balances, accrual and carry-forward
Payroll and leave data is visible to center administrators only. Employees cannot view their own payslips or balances.
Edunza keeps the records; it is not a statutory filing service. Confirm deduction figures with your accountant—see Payroll settings and deductions.
If you do not see Payroll in your menu, your plan may not include it—check Account or Premium features.
Tutors (solo accounts)
Solo tutors manage their own students and batches. They do not add staff employees or institute payroll. See Batch and student management.
